Why can't I use internet data in Russia?
Based on decisions by authorized government agencies of the Russian Federation, all roaming partners in Russia apply temporary restrictions on mobile internet access for subscribers roaming in the Russian Federation. Voice calls remain available.
Since October 6, 2025, the use of foreign SIM/eSIM cards for mobile internet in Russia has been restricted as follows:
- The restriction applies for the first 24 hours after entry.
- It is automatically lifted as long as the SIM/eSIM remains active in the same network.
- After three days of inactivity, the block may be reactivated.
Unfortunately, these restrictions are mandated by Russian regulations and cannot be overridden.
