Why does the iPhone automatically send «silent SMS» to numbers abroad?
When an iPhone is put into operation, it connects to the Apple server in the UK by means of a «silent SMS» to activate FaceTime and iMessage. This will then send a second «silent SMS» back to the device.
Sunrise is working on introducing an SMS call filter to automatically block the automatic «silent SMS».
However, since it is neither possible to send SMS to premium value-added service numbers nor to send SMS to numbers abroad with swype, silent SMS are irrelevant to our swype customers.
