I forgot my password. What can I do?
When creating a swype account, the following login methods can be selected:
- Email + Password
- Apple account login
- Facebook account login
- Google account login
In the swype app or on our swype website www.swype.ch only the password for the login method "email" can be reset as follows, as this was created on the swype platform.
swype App:
Go to the login screen, click on «I already have an account» > «I forgot my password» > enter your registered email address and press the «Reset password» button. Shortly you will receive an email with a link/button «Reset your password now» to define a new password.
If the link in the email directs you to the Apple Store or Google Store and not directly to the password reset page (this procedure depends on the device), copy the 6-digit code at the end of the email, enter it in the swype app under «I want to manually insert the code from my email» and go to «Continue» to define the new password.
swype Website:
Go to «Sign in» and click on the link "Forgot your password". Enter your registered email address and press the «Send code» button. You will shortly receive an email with a 6-digit code which can be found at the end of the email.
Please copy the 6-digit code at the end of the email and enter it in the fields provided on the website. Then click on the "Continue" button to define the new password.
For the Apple, Facebook or Google account the password can only be reset on the platform on which it was created (Apple, Facebook or Google).
With swype, you can log in with these logins which were opened on the other platforms via "Single Sign-on (SSO)" technology. This means that you can create a login once on a platform such as Google, Apple or Facebook and then use the same login data to log in to us or to many other platforms that have implemented SSO. This means you don't have to create a new login and define a new password for every new platform. This makes it easier for the user to handle his or her login data.
